Beach Safety
Safety is the first priority for all Lack’s lifeguards.  Please follow these tips while visiting:

Myrtle Beach City Ordinances

5-5.  The use of surfboards and/or skimboards is prohibited between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., April 30th through September 15, expect in the following areas:
A.  From the TA-80 Zone to the southern city limits
B.  From 37th Avenue North to 47th Avenue North
C.  From 62nd Avenue North to 68th Aveune North
D.  From 82nd Avunue North to northern city limits

5-8.  Obstructing the lifeguard's view is prohibited. Personal umbrellas must be in line or behind the lifeguard's umbrella line.

5-9.  Littering is prohibited.

5-14.  Swimmers must stay within 50 yards of shore or at shoulder depth.

5-15.  Soliciting (sales) on the beach is prohibited.

5-16.  All flotation devices which are not attached in a secure manner to one's person must be fabric-covered and have a 360-degree rope with a 10% slack.  Such devices not meeting these requirements will not be permitted on the surf or in the water.

5-17.  Glass containers of any kind are prohibited on the beach.

5-20.  Fires are prohibited on the beach.

6-4.  Dogs are prohibited on the beach between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. from May 15 through September 15.  At all other times, dogs are to leashed and their droppings removed and properly disposed.

14-139.  Fireworks are prohibited on the beach and throughout the city.

14-1.  Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the beach.

14-83.  Nudity and thong bathing suits are prohibited in public.
