Competition

Each summer Lack's Beach Service sends a team of lifeguards to the regional competition. The team is chosen by those who are interested and by practice times. Events competed are: Beach Flags, 2 mile beach run, landline, 400 meter surf swim, run-swim-run, surf rescue race, ironman/women, soft sand relay, rescue race and rescue board race.

Regionals:
We sent of team of 12 to compete in the Regional Competition in VA Beach. Added to our team this season were lifeguards from North Myrtle Beach; together our team placed 3rd in the Large Beach Divison!

The team received two frist place medals, one second, four third place medals and mutiple 5th and 6th and above. The Taplin Relay was a new event to 2007, it is four members doing surf ski, board paddle, swim and a final sprint. Lack's Taplin Relay Team (Aaron Helmer, Sean Duffy, James Turnham and Peterson Duff) placed first!

Nationals:
Myrtle Beach was the host of the USLA National Championships for 2007. The City of Myrtle Beach and Horry County worked together to up on a high class competition. The event was held August 9-11th and brought competitors from all acorss the nation to Myrtle Beach.

The Horry County team was made up of lifeguards from all beach services in the county total over 30 team members. The team placed 6th out of 13 in Chapter A. Lack's guard, Scott McCartney placed a 4th in the Top Ten Open Comeititors. View more results at www.uslanationals.org
