| | Our Guards
Lack's Beach Service lifeguards cover about 8.5 miles of beach in Horry County. Our guards cover the area between 2nd Ave. Pier and Springmaid Pier along with both sides of Apache Pier in the County of Myrtle Beach. Lack's Beach Service also covers the campgroups on the south end of Myrtle Beach. Lifeguards come from all around North America and Europe to be employed with Lack's Beach Service. Every season we employee many first year guards, as well as welcome back veteran guards.
Awards
Each summer, Lacks management and supervisors along with Beach Patrol select lifeguards who exemplified strong work ethic and go above and beyond expectations. Several awards are presented at the awards cookout. The cookout is at the end of the summer season. The awards including Rookie of the Year, Lifeguard of the Year, Safety Award and our most prestigious award, the Karl D. Righter Jr. Veteran Memorial Service Award. This award is given in honor of Karl Righter, a North Beach Service supervisor who passed away in 1995 at the age of 25 due to a motorcycle accident. Congratulations to all recipients!
